There are currently no industry standards for dog collar sizes, nor there are any standards for how to measure dog neck. So check out these details to see how KOOWIN handles dimensions.
Step 1: Measure your dog's neck and head
Have your dog sit in front of you, using a soft tape measure or a string* as follows:
Head size: from the top of the dog's throat, from the top of the ear to the top of the head (this is the size of the actual head).

Neck size: Loosely measure where the necklace is normally placed by sliding two fingers between the dog's neck and the tape measure.
Adding two fingers should make the collar size 2 inches larger than the dog's neck (may be close to 1 inch on very small dogs).
Step 2: Choose the collar of the right size
For the martingale collars, remove the neck and head size from step 1. Order a necklace that falls within this range. If you order a buckled necklace, only the size of the neck is important.
For side release buckle collars, consider the size of the collar to see if it fits our standard size range.
Step 3: Choose the right collar type
Since you know the size of the collar, you should use this infographic to help you determine the type of dog collar that works best for you. Choose our most popular martingale necklace or standard side release dog collars.
