How To Identify TPU and PVC Coated Webbing?

There are two kinds of plastic coated webbing in our production process, namely TPU coated webbing and PVC coated webbing. We can through the following methods to identify them.

(1) Through the elastic identification

PVC coated webbing is folded and rebounded slowly;

while the TPU coated webbing is folded and rebounded quickly.

(2)Identification by abrasion resistance

Using fingernail scratch the surface of webbing, PVC coated webbing surface prone to dent, and the recovery rate is slow;

TPU tape surface almost no scratches.

(3)By observing the post-combustion smoke identification

PVC burning smoke big, all is black smoke.

TPU burning less smoke, mainly is white smoke, and occasionally black smoke is because the combustion is not sufficient.

(4)Identify by burning odor

TPU burning, there is a certain aroma, and the smell is small;

PVC burning, the smell is large and very bad.

(5)Identification by post-combustion residue

TPU is burned into a black sticky liquid with a sticky feel after the touch, and a wire drawing.

PVC becomes carbonized after combustion, hard, and after hand twist, it becomes powder.
