Speaking of chewing gums, many people have something to say about it.

As I recalled, we were never allowed to chew gums in the elementary school classrooms.

Therefore, my friends and I would share a package of gums on the way to school, as soon as we arrived, the evidence has been gone.

But how to deal with the gums after chewing? Did you put them under the table? Tucked it on the windows? Or simply spit it on the street? As for me, I would get  a piece of paper, wrapped it up and then dropped it into the trash bin.

Well, not only children but also many adults have difficulties in tackling with the chewed gum.

If you take more attention, you will notice that, most adults would just do it in a more simple way: stick gums anywhere they want, it might be under the benches, tables, sidewalks and anywhere except for the trash bin.

It’s kind of frustrating, isn’t it? Gumdrop Ltd. is devoted to changing that. Since the chewed gum will have to go somewhere, then why not try to turn it into something useful or practical? Right! The idea is just brilliant and eco-friendly. But what is the exact alternative? Well… it’s just a little gross, though.

The transformation starts with a simple receptacle aimed at keeping the world a little cleaner. In 2009, Anna Bullus' idea for gum recycling took shape when Gumdrop rolled out a plan to collect used chewing gum. The company works with municipalities throughout Europe to install small, bright-pink bins were folks can deposit the used chewing gum. It charges the city for the services, which helps to reduce costs associated with removing stuck-on gum from public spaces.

In addition, Gumdrop sells tiny keyring receptacles that go anywhere. Keyrings are allowed to be returned and the shipping is provided by the firm.

After collecting the gum, it will be reproduced into a sustainable rubber compound, dubbed Gum-tec, with which numerous products such as guitar picks and fashion-forward wingtips can be made. Check for more products like pet accessories made from rubber.

More and more people are dedicated to keeping the cities clean and healthy, and a significant difference has been proved by Gum-tec ever since its inception.

For example, in Netherlands, over 3.3 million pounds of chewed gum is removed from the street every year. Thanks to Gum-tec, the waste can be processed into rubber compound and then something useful could is produced.
